Issued on behalf of Gloucester Rugby

Gloucester Rugby can today confirm that Scotland international hooker Scott Lawson will leave Kingsholm at the end of the current season.

The 30 year old’s departure will bring to an end a four season stay at Kingsholm during which time he has made 84 competitive appearances to date for the Cherry and Whites.

Lawson, who joined Gloucester from Aviva Premiership rivals Sale Sharks for the 2008-9 season, has represented his country at two Rugby World Cups and has been away with Scotland on RBS Six Nations duty in recent weeks.

Despite there being real competition for the number two shirt at Gloucester, he has always been a regular in the first team squad and a competitive presence in the line up.

Head Coach Bryan Redpath paid tribute to the former Glasgow Warrior’s contribution to Gloucester Rugby during his time at the club.

“Scott’s always given nothing less than his best for Gloucester during his time with us.

“He’ll go with our best wishes and we wish him well for the future.”
